Most productivity setups rely on global shortcuts. But that causes problems:
- ⌘ + T? Conflicts with browser tabs
- ⌘ + N? Breaks native “new file” behavior
- ⌘ + P? Overrides search or print
The Fix: Local Shortcuts
In Assignee, shortcuts only trigger after you activate the launcher (default: Ctrl + Tab).
That means you can safely assign:
- Ctrl + Tab, ⌘ + T -> Terminal
- Ctrl + Tab, ⌘ + N -> Notion
- Ctrl + Tab, ⌘ + P -> Preview
No conflicts. No broken behavior.
Final Thought
Your productivity system should fit around your tools—not fight them. Local shortcuts are a modern solution for modern workflows.
